On Saturday, May 15, 2010 Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity literally ‘walked for dear life’. Rain or shine, The Crossing, a place of welcome committed to helping women who are struggling with an unplanned pregnancy and/or women who desire better relationships, held a 2. 5 mile hike down Manitowoc’s Mariners Trail.

Franciscan Women Religous Join Others to Walk for Life

Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity support The Crossing, a Manitowoc Outreach to Women.

Franciscan Sisters, families, friends and young people walked while pledging a single donation to this organization that offers free pregnancy tests, a 24 hour hotline, one on one peer counseling and support groups for women. Maternity and infant clothing and supplies as well as references for adoption alternatives are also among the services provided.

Needless to say, it was a gorgeous, sunny day for a walk near the shoreline of Lake Michigan.
