How Francisan Sisters Thank the Manitowoc Area Serra Club

Franciscan Sisters of Christian can’t say enough about the Manitowoc Area Serra Club. Saturday, October 29, 2011, was our annual day to say thank you to them for their awesome support.

Being that Serra International (‘Serra’) is formally recognized by Pope Benedict as the global lay apostolate for vocations in the Catholic Church, it is a precious gift to have a Serra Club so close to us. Talk about a group of people who promise to pray for us and our future members.

How fitting that our time with these sincerely interested friends include Eucharist , (Father Richard Klingeisen is their dedicated chaplain),  some ‘witnessing’ by our young people in formation, comments by Novice Sister Monica’s Dad and a home-y meal with all of us. Lastly, we gifted our guests with specially-packaged Motherhouse bakery (oatmeal rolls: we may need to share this recipe eventually) and an opportunity to tour our Community heritage room.
