How do young people gain a deeper appreciation for Franciscan values of community and compassion? Five Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity-sponsored Silver Lake College of the Holy Family, Manitowoc, WI students served as pallbearers at the funeral of Tyler Doohan. This was an exercise of the heart.
Tyler, an 8 year old from Rochester, NY, tragically lost his life while trying to rescue his grandfather and disabled uncle from a burning home. Firefighters said that the brave young man rescued six people including two children before going back into the burning structure to try and save his grandfather and uncle.
