What is May without May Crowning? Franciscan Sister of Christian Charity Sister Annette Kurey shares on a recent May Crowning at St. Francis of Assisi School in Greenwood, MS.

This week in Sister Francis’ absence Sister Kathleen prepared our school Mass with the second graders. The students who made their First Communion also crowned Mary. We had a very festive entrance and crowning procession with streamers made for the occasion.St. Francis of Assisi School Crowns Mary Statue

During the homily Father Greg Plata, OFM, our pastor, brought in Blanca his dog. Using Blanca and the students’ understanding of how they care for their dogs, Father paralleled for them how God cares for us. We know His voice and His concern for us. He teaches us, loves us and feeds us in Holy Communion.
