What can one expect in a Franciscan jubilee celebration? Saturday afternoon there was a practice for the Sunday Eucharistic liturgy followed by a reception just for the jubilarians. This was the time for the Sisters to relive memories that they have shared together over the years. This morning the Sisters sat at a specially-prepared, colorfully-decorated breakfast table in our Motherhouse cafeteria. Community Director Sister Natalie Binversie delivered a congratulatory message including Sisters in these two groups who celebrate today in heaven. Family and friends are arriving as they are able for the afternoon Mass at 2 p.m.. Diocese of Green Bay Bishop David Ricken will preside with these priests also around the altar: Father Hilary Bryezinski, OFM, Father Thomas DeWane, Father Joel Szydlowski, OFM, Father Gerald Foley, Msgr. John DeWane, Father Gerald Falk, Father William Van De Loo, Father Finian Zaucha, OFM, Father Placid Stroik, OFM, Father Ralph Gilles and Father Paul Vanden Hogen. After Mass all are invited for a plate dinner with jubilee cake and ice cream served for dessert in our convent cafeteria. Count always on much joy, smiles and laughter as visiting continues.
