Although Franciscan Sisters of Christian hold many good memories of a summer gathering with the Manitowoc Serrans, this year was different. The location of camaraderie was changed. Weather is no longer a problem. The event was moved inside. The date was also changed. Once held in August, July is the new normal. More of our Sisters, some serving in other locations far from Manitowoc, were happy to partake in the fun.
A delicious picnic food menu was served at St. Francis of Assisi Parish Social Hall on Grand Avenue. There were plenty of chairs for all the Sisters, priests, brothers and seminarians in the crowd.
The tradition continues with a strong spirit of support for all the vocations serving together in our Catholic Church. As part of their own vocation initiatives, Serrans invited Roncalli High School La Sallian youth to assist with hospitality.
