Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity history proudly documents that we served at Norway, MI in 1888-1897. As far as we know there are just 2 Sisters in our community from St. Mary’s Parish, Norway: Sister Antoinette St. John and Sister Patrice Kennedy. Imagine our excitement to entertain guests from this part of Michigan and beyond.

Franciscan Sisters guests from Upper Michigan

Current pastor of St. Mary, Norway and St. Barbara, Vulcan, Father Timothy M. Ekaitis, traveled to our Motherhouse with 4 high school girls and one chaperone. Companions were from this quaint area of Michigan,  as well as from Bark River and  near Gladstone. Franciscan Sisters guests2

Time with us included a tour of our Motherhouse, meals in our cafeteria, prayer and recreation times. A Holy Family Conservatory tour with real stage time at the Franciscan Center of Music and Education was the final experience  before tracing steps on the road home.Michigan guests at Holy Famly Convent
