Franciscan Sister Recipient of International Katalin Forrai Award

Franciscan Sister Lorna Zemke received the International Katalin Forrai Award.

Franciscan Sister LornaThis summer at Silver Lake College, Manitowoc, Wisconsin, over 130 guests attended a special reception honoring Sister Lorna Zemke as she received the International Katalin Forrai Award. Sister Lorna is beloved and admired by so many people nationally and internationally for her life’s work and commitment to Early Childhood Education, her depth of knowledge, her boundless energy, her selfless and generous spirit, her candor and her humor. It was a happy occasion to be among her friends, convent sisters, university colleagues, and former students to celebrate her achievements. Five former OAKE presidents attended the event in person: Betsy Moll, John Feierabend, Ann Kay, Brent Gault and Kelly Foster Griffin.

At the Silver Lake ceremony, Dr. Chris E Domes, President of Silver Lake College spoke about “Servant Leadership” and its embodiment in the works of Sister Lorna Zemke and Sister Marella Wagner. Read more:International Katalin Forrai Award Recipients 2015 Edited (1)
