Franciscan Sister of Christian Charity sent this message to Maria Reina School, Lima, Peru on their 50th anniversary. Here is a translation. We hope to hear more from Sister Cyrilla Jackels , Sister Marlita Henseler and Sister Mary Ann Spanjers re: their visit on their return from Lima.

Franciscan Sisters at Lima Peru airportCongratulations on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Maria Reina School. We thank the Marianists for their invitation to Peru to work in education of the Peruvians in 1965, and we appreciated the warm welcome given to us Franciscan Sisters during the 35 year of ministry. We promise our prayers for the families, the students, and the teachers for the next 50 years. We ask your prayers for us and for religious vocations to our community.Franciscan Sisters at Maria Reina School Banquet

The picture of the Holy Family is a replica of a painting done by Sister Victoria, one of our Franciscan Sisters, that arrived in Peru with the Sister nurses in 1965. When they left the country in 1969, the painting stayed in the Convent at Maria Reina until our final exit in 2001. May Jesus, Mary and Joseph be an example to you all of the spirit of love and care that should be a part of Catholic education.Franciscan Sister Victoria Holy Family
