Franciscan Sister Louise Hembrecht shares on the recent Sisters’ Assembly, a gathering of our Sisters who currently serve-whether employed or as sponsor presence representatives- in our sponsored institutions. It is held every 18 months to inform, educate and share on current topics of interest. Franciscan-Sisters-Assembly-42516-copy

The Sisters’ Assembly theme was “Ministry in the Jubilee year of Mercy and Beyond”.  As Chair of the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity Sponsored Ministries Board, Sister Natalie presented Sister Laura with a special presentation of gratitude for her thirty-one years of service as President of the HealthCare / Sponsored Ministries System. The picture, painted by Sister Victoria has the following words: “Those touched by the fire of Jesus radiate Him” and was accompanied with words of gratitude.Franciscan Sister Laura 42516

Sister Natalie introduced Dan McGinty, the future President of FSCCM to the Assembly. Dan, in turn, introduced himself by introducing his wife, Lynn, and their children and sharing a little about his background. He articulated his experience sharing in the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity charism in the past, his ongoing service in Catholic HealthCare, and his continuing attraction to the Franciscan Charism evident in the System and the lives of the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity.Franciscan-Sister-Natalie-and-McGintys-42516-copy

As part of the gathering, past Community Directors – Sister Ritarose Stahl, Sister Paula Vanden Hogen and Sister Louise Hembrecht – and Current Community Director – Sister Natalie Binversie, described the main events, beginnings or developments that happened in the System during their term of Office.Franciscan-Sisters-in-leadership-42516-copy
