Good Health: Making Small Changes…for Lasting Results. This was the theme of a recent Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity health day.  Sister Anne Turba, NP, and Barb Backus, NP, provided information to help any of us, whether young or old (or in-between) to stay well or improve our health.

We were encouraged to make this year one for healthy change. Barb’s well-researched presentation gave practical suggestions. Handouts were available on 9  keys to Franciscan Sister healthy aging._DSC3256 - Copy

  • Lower Systolic Blood pressure
  • Participate in Cancer Screening
  • Get Immunized Regularly
  • Regulate Blood Glucose
  • Lower LDL Cholesterol
  • Be Physically Active
  • Maintain Healthy Bones, Joints and Muscles
  • Maintain Social Contact
  • Combat Depression
