Building our own Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity Community Life is a dynamic process. In each of our convents every fall, an atmosphere of faith-sharing and realistic planning of all things important to Consecrated Life is our focus. We set aside sacred time for this purpose.
Important to this prayerful dialogue with one another are such matters as the spiritual life, reconciliation and practices of penance. Equally significant is conversation on our daily schedule, local community budget, communal and personal recreation, etc.. Communication is at the heart of our relationship with God and others. We also add joyful, light-heartedness in all things. This year discussion on Oblate of St. Francis de Sales Father James Greenfield’s article, Wonderful and Complicated: The Gift of Consecrated Life to the World encouraged us in talking about what was important. Points to ponder:
- balance between healthy living and healthy visions of Consecrated Life,
- responsiveness to the dymamics of our world and the demands of the world’s needy
- centeredness in an experience of the Spirit as experienced in a web of exciting relationships.
