When presenting to young adults at the Catholic Center near Northern Michigan University campus, Franciscan Sister Marsaia Kaster began with a quote by St. John Paul II’s encyclical Catechesis tredendae.
“At the heart of catechesis we find…a Person, the Person of Jesus of Nazareth, the only Son of the Father…” We are called not just to “know” about Jesus, but to “living communion” with Jesus Christ. And “the Church’s meaning and goal is this “living communion with the triune God.”
The rosary is a real way of living the mysteries of Jesus life, the Gospel. Along with a simple rosary procession, emphasis was given to the sacraments of our Church and how they, too, are highlighted in this meaningful prayer. Stories of people changed by Mary’s intercession were shared. All were encouraged to visit The Shrine Our Lady of Good Help, Champion, WI, a place Mary has shown her special protection and presence.
