Franciscan Tree Calls for Prayer for Our Nation

There is a unique ‘prayer tree’ in our Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity Motherhouse in Manitowoc, WI. Sisters and our employees are offering prayers for our nation this Christmas Season. We are remembering the many needs of the common good,  but more so, the unique individuals and his or her concerns who live in a particular state.
To make this happen and so no state is left behind, a tree in St. Rita’s Health Care Center has all 50 states hung on its branches.

The idea is to choose a state that you would like to say a prayer for and the people who live in that state. After someone prays, they take a star and attach it to the tree near or on the state. The aim is to attach a star to each state and pray for the whole nation in our interactions with each other and the entire world. Jesus, light of the world, pray for us.
