Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity Novice Sister Mary Teresa reflects on her recent mission experience to St. Francis Convent, West Point, NE.

What a great start the year 2017 got off to for me!  I flew out to West Point, Nebraska for twelve days of mission experience with Sisters Joy, Barbara, Elizabeth, and Elizabeth Ann.  West Point is easily the most Catholic town I have ever visited – at only 3500 people it has three daily masses, perpetual adoration, a Catholic hospital, retirement home, nursing home (almost), and pre-K through 12 school – so I got to see a little bit of everything. Novice Sister Mary Teresa West Point NEI even got to do a little bit of everything – and that included playing hockey, visiting Sister Renée (and my older brother, Charlie) in Omaha, and even attending a cattle auction – so fun!  Franciscan Sisters at West Point NE JanuaryI have to say that my favorite part of the experience was the people; everyone – the Sisters, the priests, the students, the families, the farmers at the auction were all so friendly, so generous, so hospitable, and so faith-filled.  Novice Sister Mary Teresa West Point NE hockey gameThey were a beautiful witness to me, and I am richer for having met them and had this wonderful experience!Novice Sister Mary Teresa on the benchIs God calling you?
