Discerning Light in the Clouds: Featuring Cloud Cult’s Song ‘You Were Born’

Discerning your future after graduation, your vocation or a career move in your professional life? This June Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity feature Cloud Cult’s song You Were Born. Trust in the promise of new life and find the light of truth in a God who loves and cares for you. St. Francis of Assisi did.

“This song was written for our newborn son, Nova. After the loss of our previous son, who passed unexpectedly at the age of two, we went through a long grieving process that brought us through a lot of soul searching, and that journey back towards some kind of hope in the madness was journaled into an album we called Light Chasers.”

-Craig Minowa

This is a beautiful song of a father’s love for his newborn child and the hopes and dreams he has for him. It also provides a beautiful image of the deep love of our Heavenly Father for each of us and the great plans He has in store as we grow in relationship to Him. Thanks to the artist for sharing this inspiration.

  6. Sr. Delores says:

I feel the pain and depth of their love. This is a powerful song of holding, loving and honoring the light of life. My heart goes out to the family. Love is holding them all… I believe life is a circle of love. We can learn so much from the gift and the Giver…

  7. Sister Hannah Johnecheck says:

I love how the song keeps repeating, “Cause you were born.” There is this powerful reinforcement of our inherent dignity as a human person simply because we were born. Nothing can change that.

  8. Sister Elaine says:

Thank you for sharing this very inspiring song, so close to your heart. It is a beautiful reminder to each of us about the ways our paths can cross, because we were each born – to be a part of the lives of others. Through all that life offers, God is present.
