Franciscan Sister of Christian Charity Community Director Sister Natalie Binversie shares her recent words to our jubilarians on their 60th anniversary of religious profession.
Good morning! Thank you for being here to celebrate the 60th Jubilee of Religious Profession of our Sisters! Special greetings of congratulations to Sister Camilla, Sister Frances Ann, Sister Marlene, Sister Michaela, Sister Rosaire and Sister Valerie!
How appropriate that you are celebrating your 60th Jubilee two days after the Feast of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. You have been Loyal Attendants of the Sacred Heart these 60 years in the various ministries and places where you have been missioned to serve God as a Franciscan Sister of Christian Charity.
At Mass this afternoon we will hear that the Prophet Jeremiah had an unwavering trust in the Lord who had called him, confident that neither he nor his cause would be abandoned. As we all know, Jeremiah did not have this attitude of trust and selfless giving all of his life. He would have opted out if he could have, but there was no avoiding God’s will. He grew into his trust in God just as we do by deepening our relationship with God through our daily prayer and all that is encountered each day.
The Gospel reading from St. Matthew 10:26-33 assures us that we are more valuable than many sparrows. God is always to be trusted regardless of the seriousness of the situation. Nothing “not even a hair of one’s head can be lost because God is all-knowing and all-loving. Your life, well lived, is but a prelude to an ever fuller life, a life that is now known by Sister Conchita Boyer (1993), Sister Alexa Rollman (2000) and Sister Dismas Scharinger (2016) who completed their earthly journey as Loyal Attendants of the Sacred Heart.
May this day of Jubilee be a day of celebration of life. It is a day for all of us to reflect with you on the blessings of the past, the graces of the present and the trust that will lead us into the future with God’s enduring love. We are honored to celebrate with you. Rejoice in the presence of family, friends and Sisters in Community. God bless you and know that God is always with you. Enjoy the beauty of this day!
