A vocation awareness hope, Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity sojourned October 21, 2017 to St. Joseph Parish, Sturgeon Bay, WI to lead the congregation in song for the Saturday evening Sunday liturgy.  Pastor Fr. Bob Stegmann extended the invitation announcing our arrival in the bulletin for weeks.  We arrived with the sun shining to set up instruments before 4 p.m.. Gracious ministers of hospitality were there to help.

Indeed, the drive to Door County was fall picture perfect. The Eucharist truly was a celebration of a caring faith community in a loved golden-hued church. The building highlighted the richness of the natural and liturgical seasons.

If you have not visited this beautiful worship space, this video gives you a virtual experience of the church.

The liturgy’s Scripture reading from St. Paul’s letter to the Thessalonians is our continued prayer for God’s people here: “We give thanks to God always for all of you, remembering you in our prayers, unceasingly calling in mind your work of faith and labor of love and endurance in hope of our Lord Jesus Christ before our God and Father, knowing, brothers and sisters loved by God, how you are chosen.”

After Mass, we were treated to a meal at Monica Hilbert’s home, a special friend of our Community. It was a feast of good food and good conversation. We headed home very aware that Jesus is with us and with all we met on the road.
