“Jesus loves you as if you were the only person in the planet.” This is what Bishop Ricken said at one of the Masses celebrating the anniversary of the Diocese of Green Bay in the month of October of 2018. He was quoting Mother Teresa. He said, “If you were the only person on the planet, Jesus would have still come down and died for you exclusively.” Jesus suffered greatly because of his deep love for each one of us. He loves us as we are. Jesus loves sinners and He came to call us to repentance.
When we truly are in love with Jesus we can endure great suffering and leave sin behind. Love is more effective than fear. This Lent, let us pray to Jesus for a deeper love for and relationship with him.
