Franciscan Sister of Christian Charity Sister Marcolette Madden speaks about her new ministry as an Educational Consultant. Contact her at 920-323-7768 or smarcolette@fscc-calledtobe.org.

I’m excited to serve as an Educational Consultant because “coaching” is in my DNA.  As a Catholic School principal and Associate Professor of Education at Holy Family College, I had extensive opportunities to guide professional educators and pre-service teachers – a role that “made my heart sing.”  I genuinely enjoy promoting others’ growth.

My new ministry is an expression of our Congregations’ commitment to respond to the needs of our time.  In a world broken by divisiveness, we strive to follow in the footsteps of St. Francis of Assisi who promoted unity and equity.  Our times challenge us to open our hearts, to embrace diversity, to listen, and to learn.

Many of the topics I can offer provide tools for healing a broken world: listening skills, coaching conversations, characteristics of Servant Leadership, Six Thinking Hats.  Some topics are more curriculum oriented: Understanding by Design, Integrating the Arts in the Curriculum, Visible Learning for Teachers, Best Practices in Online Instruction. I’m looking forward to hearing from interested parties about their needs for professional guidance or development, whether that would take the form of a workshop, presentation, personal conversation, or coaching session(s).  Depending on the status of COVID, the meetings would be in-person or virtual (i.e., ZOOM, Google meet, podcast, etc.).

Because of the networks I’ve built with schools in our county and beyond, I’ll be able to recommend experts on particular topics and model programs, as well as notable research.  Is a school interested in developing a Professional Learning Community?  I am able to provide the names of principals who are willing to share their experience.
