Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity share important news that  Catherine (Katie) Logan, Colorado Springs, CO, has been accepted to be a Postulant to our Community. Katie responds to questions regarding her call from God. Join us in supporting Katie at this time in her life.

Katie shares:

I am excited to share that I have been accepted to a Catholic Religious Order, the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity! The FSCC share “Our prayer is rooted in life and our life is rooted in our prayer”. God has called me to discern this Religious Life vocation with the Franciscans through their Charism of Joyful acceptance of poverty, Love for the Church, Selfless dedication to the service of others, and Simplicity. There is a process once I enter that will reveal the ministry in which I will serve through the gifts and talents that God has given me. I am excited to see the plan God has as it slowly unfolds. In order to officially enter formation towards becoming a Sister I need to be clear of my education debt. I invite you to join me on this mission so I can respond with my “Yes” to God to serve others with my whole life.

What will I be doing when I enter?

God has gifted me with the ability to communicate with others from children to the end of life. God has opened my heart and given me a desire to serve with the hope that no one should feel unloved or unworthy. From many service opportunities at Neumann College, to university ministry and homeless outreach through the Jesuit Volunteer Corps, to chaplaincy at the VA Med Center and hospice and children’s hospital care during graduate school at Fordham, to volunteering at Holy Apostles and the USO on Ft. Carson, God has laid a foundation of experience within me. When I enter the Order in Wisconsin as a Postulant I will continue to discern my call through formal instruction, community prayer, and opportunities to serve in charity. Through exploration of education, health care, parish work, and other ministry opportunities a potential focus will open as a way to be a “laborer in the vineyard” as Jesus uncovers His mission for me.”
