About Aly Aleigha
Aly Aleigha is a well-equipped & enthusiastic speaker. She received her Bachelors of Arts degree at Franciscan University, double-majoring in Theology and Catechetics with a concentration in Youth Ministry. Aly has captivated countless people of all ages–catechizing middle school children, high schoolers, College Campus ministry and adult audiences.

When I wrote this song, I was in a really good place. I was happy, heart full to the brim, truly in awe of the Lord’s goodness–and this song flowed out of me to praise the Lord for that gift. I thought maybe this was similar to the joy Adam & Eve knew in the garden before sin entered the world, when everything was simply perfect…yet in a post-Fall world, we only know joy in contrast to hardship. When we experience difficult times we often think back to when life was “better.” But even in challenging seasons when the world comes crashing in on us, scripture urges us to “offer the Lord a sacrifice of praise” (Hebrews 13:15, Psalm 49:14, etc). Praise is fundamentally directed outward, not about inward emotions or whether we “feel” like praising. Emotions are good and beautiful, and of course we all want to be happy–but even when our hearts are breaking we can cling to the Lord and offer Him a sacrifice of praise, to worship Him in all things. Because in every season of life, every moment, in every breath we take, God is constantly upholding us, and He entered into our darkness to bring His light. All is gift. And we know with God we can conquer any trial that comes against us, we have hope that endures and everything He promises us is fulfilled, and “the shadows that once enveloped [us] flee with all their might!”
