Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity were invited by Youth Minister Jessica Lemoine to an evening with the Divine Mercy Parish Youth Group, South Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Before arriving at our planned destination, we were blessed to visit the parish church on Marquette Avenue. Our eyes were drawn to the stained glass windows and the mural at the main altar. Another blessing of putting the wrong address in our phone app was that we met pastor Fr. Joseph Pradeep Sebastian. He was very kind and helpful in getting us to the right place on College Avenue with time to spare.
The evening included ice breakers, input on the consecrated life and sharing by religious women on our unique call from God. Young people were introduced to both our Sisters and the School Sisters of Notre Dame. We were impressed with the youth group’s maturity and ability to respond to questions on material. The evening closed with night prayer and the opportunity to pray for personal intentions. We felt the Holy Spirit in this place.
Mary, queen of heaven and earth, intercede for us on behalf of all young people. May they know their vocation and live it with generous hearts.
