Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity serving at Christ Our Light Parish in Cambridge, Ohio are back into classes for the 2021-2022 school year. St. Benedict Catholic School begins the year with a new principal, Traci Mitchell. Because of everyone’s commitment to excellence, the school community is eager to get to know her and to experience her leadership.

As a means to foster growth among all teachers, students and families, the theme of “Do Small Things With Great Love!” was selected for the days ahead. St. Therese of Lisieux  discovered this “Little Way” to become a saint. “Not all of us can do great things, but we can do small things with great love.” This focus encourages all of us in  everyday greatness and insures making life better for people in need.

Recently, in order to orientate the families to the school and allow for a natural flow of questions and concerns, a family open house was held. Sister Sharon Paul was very excited to meet the new principal and all the families. Sister June Smith greeted visitors from her school office.  She assists the principal and all staff with various tasks and enjoys being helpful.

Sister Mariadele Jacobs, who teaches religion classes in some of the classrooms, was available in her area of planning. She is very open to assisting any family with sacramental needs  as they arise.

Sister Carol Juckem was found in the music room. She likes to make music fun, but also desires to help all students grow in self-confidence and love for the fine arts.

Families also toured the school library where Sister Helen Marie Paul assists with all research projects and encourages enjoyment in reading. May the Lord bless St. Benedict Catholic School.
