As we focus during October on a greater respect for life in all it’s facets, our Sisters shared this news from Cambridge, Ohio. Recently the 11th  annual Fundraising Banquet for Open Arms Pregnancy Center was held at Jurassic Park in Cambridge.  Christ Our Light Parish and five other organizations were Underwriters and our Holy Family Convent of Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity were one of four Supporters. Table Sponsors and Friend Table Sponsors consisted of 17 churches and families.

The theme this year was “Walk in the Light,” and the featured speaker was Shawn Carney from Texas. Shawn is the national founder of the “40 Days for Life” which is an international movement that has proven to be a very effective approach to praying for healing and for the end to abortion. He is also the author of many books, including “Unplanned” which has been made into a movie.

The bad news, he said, is that there are close to 25 hundred abortions each day, but the good news is that 36% abortion clinics have closed in the last ten years. There are 3,000 Pregnancy Centers helping to save lives of children & support the families.

The Pregnancy Center in Cambridge, Ohio is very active and is run by Andrea Woodmansee with a Board of Directors and one of our parishioners, Dr. Patrick Goggin, is the Medical Director.

Mr. Carney said: “God is on the move and when God gets involved mountains move.” (Eph. 3:20)
