Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity living at St. Paul Convent near St. Paul Elder Services, Kaukauna, Wisconsin, reflect on the recent visit of Temporary Professed Sister Concepcion Medina.
Sr. Concepcion brought compassion, love and helping hands to St. Paul Elder Services on her mission experience with us. She lectored and song led at our 11:00am Mass. She visited and transported residents to the Chapel with us. She was even able to assist Sister Cecilia Joy in the Manor (people in dementia’s early stages) where she led rosaries and songs.
She is a gifted chef where she treated us with Chinese chicken on lo mein noodles and burritos. She assisted me with a project for the friars at St. Fidelis. Her presence brought a great love for the Lord. She shadowed one of our nurses and helped her very much. The nurse spoke highly of her compassion and love for the residents.
Sr. Concepcion shared with us her love for the elderly and it is very evident. It was a blessing to have her in our midst! We continue to pray for her in her studies for being a nurse, a very needed profession in this time of history.
Max, our parrot, enjoyed Sister very much and would show off to her…
Deeply grateful,
Sr. Delores, Sr. Charleen, Sr. Cecilia Joy
