Franciscan Sister Elena Gonzales’ Vocation is as a Teacher, currently teaching 3rd Grade in the GRACE System at Holy Family School in Green Bay.

“I’m building upon what God calls me to do, one year might be in Arizona, one year might be in Mississippi. Everywhere God calls me is a new culture and meaning, and everywhere I see God in a different light. So I’m growing to see Who God is within those different cultures As you gradually grow as a sister, closer in prayer life to God, you understand it more, each day… hopefully becomes alive in you, hopefully transfers to classroom.. you can see it in students’ joy and trust.”

Since1869, we’ve followed our Franciscan charism to serve in Catholic Health Care, Education, Campus Ministry and Parish-Community Service throughout the United States. From Missions on Dioceses in Arizona, to the Dioceses of Lincoln and Omaha; from Columbus and Steubenville to Wisconsin and Michigan. Our newest sisters in formation have joined us from Wisconsin, Colorado, North Carolina and Texas. Would you like to know more about how we live our Franciscan Charism? Thank you for sharing your life and your ministry with us, Sr. Elena. I can feel the joy and love you have for your students and for all you are doing to be the face of Jesus to those you meet every day wherever you are. May others come to know that God walks with them as you touch the lives of others with your kindness and grace!
