Franciscan Sister of Christian Charity Sister Carol Seidl shares on former Manitowoc, Wisconsin Holy Family College Statue of Mary traveling to Lindsay, Nebraska.

What a joy it was to see the statue of our Blessed Mother, which was in the Clare Circle at the College, going to a new home where they are very much awaiting her arrival. John and Rose Wiese, whose great aunt was Sister Berdelle Wiese, traveled to the Motherhouse on January 27th with a trailer to gently take Our Lady to her new home.

The statue of the Blessed Mother is part of their son’s Eagle Scout project. Her new home will be on the parish grounds in Lindsay, Nebraska. Their son is collecting donations to build the pedestal for her and for benches for parishioners to sit on by her. John Wiese brought sleeping bags to put under her head for the journey as well as other blankets to put around her. She was well taken care of. As you can see, as we leave places we have taught at for years the people still remember our good works. We have left our footprints there and our Franciscan Spirit.
