Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity Sister Elizabeth Benvie received a surprise call from Deacon Frank Birr, Director of the Manitowoc, Wisconsin Roncalli High School Singers, requesting that the choral group would like to include both St. Rita Health Center Community and the Motherhouse Sisters in their music tour. What an offer deserving a big Yes! The beauty of the sound and the generosity of the students continues to linger in our Sisters’ memories even during this Holy Week. May the Lord bless them always!
Deacon Birr and his high school students performed their acapella concert in St. Mary’s Chapel. Sisters from St. Francis Convent and Chiara Convent also attended.
Our singers performed to perfection eight (8) selections: “Prisi”, “America the Beautiful”, “The Nightingale”, “Je le vous dirait”, “Under the Sea”, “That Lonesome Road”, “Mary, Did You Know?”, “Loch Lomond”. It certainly was a winning performance appreciated by the audience. We hope that Deacon Birr and his singers can return for another performance before the end of this school year.
