The Manitowoc Sand Sculpting Festival along the Red Arrow Park Beach drew thousands of visitors the weekend of July 19-21, including Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity. Quoting Albert Einstein, one Sister remarked, “Creativity is intelligence having FUN.” Sunrise Rotary Club of Manitowoc, and Visit Manitowoc sponsored the event. Sister Marcolette Madden, a member of the Sunrise Rotary Club, and Sister Carmen Marie Diaz helped at the North Entrance gate.
The laughter of children playing in the sand, the quiet peace of folks pausing to relax along the rippling shore of Lake Michigan, and the animated conversations among visitors of all ages blended into moments of joy that lifted spirits from the ordinary demands of life. “Be still and know that I am God.”
