August 22, 2024

St. Edward and St. Isidore Parish’s Vocation Committee, 3667 Flintville Road, Green Bay, Wisconsin invited Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity to their recent Harvest Fest. Sister Mary Ann Spanjers and Sister Julie Ann Sheahan rolled out a suitcase filled with a tablecloth, photos and Sister handmade items and headed for a table provided for us in the ‘kids’tent’.  Our plastic canvas crosses were picked up by people of all ages. We were quick to point out that many of our Sisters lovingly stitched each one. All were quick to pick out their favorite colors. We delighted in seeing the many prizes won by the successful game players who tested their throwing arms near us. Being near the ticket booth, we were in an action-packed area.

Two of our Sisters from St. Agnes Convent, Sister Jan Villemure and Sister Mariadele Jacobs found us in the crowd. They later joined the lines and enjoyed a meal under one of tents. It was kind of them to share a piece of apple pie with us. A perfect dessert at a Harvest Fest!

We shared a table with men from the parish who are beginning a Kairos Year. This means, they are beginning a yearlong formation opportunity dedicated to helping men who feel called and have a desire to serve Jesus Christ as a priest. It truly  was a day of meeting new people, precious relatives and friends of our Sisters.
