The Diocese of Green Bay is focusing on building a culture of vocations in each of the parishes. As part of this thrust, on Sunday, August 25, 2024, Bishop David Ricken presided at an afternoon liturgy celebrating consecrated women who marked significant anniversaries of religious profession. The event was held at St. Bernard Church, Green Bay.
All present were encouraged through the Scripture and songs to “taste and see the goodness of the Lord.” The Sisters recognized are precious to our Church and to our world. Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity were honored to share the gift of music for the Mass. Vicar for Religious Sister Leonette Kochan was among the celebrants and lead the planning.

Yes, God continues to call each person to a particular vocation. For those in the diocese, it is still not too late to nominate a person whom you think Jesus might be calling to be a priest or religious sister or brother from your parish at the present time. Those nominated will receive a letter from our Bishop congratulating them on living the Christian life in an exemplary way and gently inviting them to begin formally discerning their calling, as well as much helpful information and resources. Click here to find the form. Meanwhile, please join us in praying for all families. Truly, their generosity feeds the whole Church.
