Recently, Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity enjoyed a delightful Fiesta Latina at Regner Park, West Bend. This Latin American, fun-filled, family environment supported the mission of Casa Guadalupe Education Center, Inc. Sister Carmen Marie Diaz, Sister Helen Marie Paul, Sister Concepcion Medina, Sister Michelle Marie Ozuna and Sister Julie Ann Sheahan felt especially blessed to meet individuals who are employees and volunteers for this awesome organization making a difference in people’s lives. Our Sisters were quick to say more about the day.

“How wonderful to be a part of this Fiesta for Casa Guadalupe!  The 2-day event in Regner Park held something for everyone: singing, dancing, games (for children and Loteria/Bingo for everyone), vendors of Mexican candy and goods, and, of course, good food. The people who served and attended the event were friendly and kind. The Casa Guadalupe serves about 5, 000 individuals with services including English classes for adults and children. They help to find employment opportunities and offer classes to develop work and business skills. A great way to help support their projects and give witness.” – Sister Carmen Marie Diaz

“The spirit of the Fiesta brought joy to my heart.”- Sister Helen Marie Paul (Sister Helen Marie was a winner in Loteria!)

“On Saturday, September 21st, we had the pleasure of supporting a great nonprofit organization, Casa Guadalupe, by attending their annual “Fiesta Latina”.  Casa Guadelupe provides many services in literacy and education to the Hispanic immigrant community of West Bend Wisconsin. In addition to supporting a great cause we were also able to celebrate our own culture during this Hispanic Heritage Month.  It was a familiar setting to be fully immersed in the joyful expressions of Hispanic culture.  From the smells and taste of the amazing foods and beverages to the sound of Spanish music and the many arts, crafts and games, I am sure a great time was had by all who attended, especially the families of West Bend.” – Sister Michelle Marie Ozuna
