Jacqueline Welsh, Volunteer Coordinator of St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Manitowoc, Wisconsin Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, shares a blessing involving one of our Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity and the parish’s Catechesis of the Good Shepherd program.
“Recently, Franciscan Sister of Christian Charity Sister Veronica Schad was out of state for Catechesis of the Good Shepherd training. She received wonderful blessings from God big and small. God provided free meals, living in a community with many different religious orders, daily Mass, carpooling that kept our expenses low and surprisingly a free offer of furniture for our Catechesis of the Good Shepherd atriums. The only hitch, how do we get these items from Pittsburgh, PA to Manitowoc, Wisconsin? Through the absolute blessing of a few generous hearts these items slowly made their way from Pennsylvania to Michigan, Michigan to Chicago and finally from Chicago to Manitowoc. Special thanks go to Angela and her husband Brad (Michigan Knight of Columbus and field agent) who filled up their car with these items and drove 6.5 hours to bring them to Joe and his fiancé (Illinois Knight of Columbus and field agent) who drove from Chicago 4.5 hours to bring them to Jacqueline (St. Clare Society) and Sister Veronica for the last leg of the trip.
The big and small items will be used by hundreds of children for many years to teach them the faith and the love of God both at St. Francis of Assisi Parish and at Roncalli Elementary School.”
