Since 1973, the Catholic Church in the United States has observed October as “Respect Life Month.” This year, Bishop Michael F. Burbidge of Arlington, chairman of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops’ (USCCB) Committee on Pro-Life Activities invites Catholics to commemorate Respect Life Month by embracing this moment of Eucharistic Revival to direct and strengthen our efforts to defend human life. 40 Days for Life Leader Milwaukee 365 September invited Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity for a Eucharistic Procession on Sunday, October 2o at 2:30 pm. at St. Hedwig Church. “I appreciated the peaceful Eucharistic Procession as we walked the Milwaukee neighborhood praying the rosary together! The faith and commitment to life of those who attended inspire me and give me hope!” – Sister Mary Ann Spanjers
“It was a beautiful day to enjoy the fall scenery as we walked in the Eucharistic procession and prayed the rosary. It was good to join with others who believe in the sacredness of all life and the power of prayer to make a difference in our world, especially for those unborn.” – Sister Theresa Feldkamp
“It was a blessing to participate in the Eucharistic Procession where we prayed for the respect of life from conception to natural death. It was so powerful to process with Jesus, present in the Most Holy Eucharist, contrasted by the hard pavement of the active Milwaukee streets. The smell of the incense permeated the neighborhoods as bystanders showed reverence along our trek and we prayed aloud a scriptural rosary together.” – Sister Michelle Marie Ozuna
