Franciscan Sister of Christian Charity Sister Mary Ann Spanjers shares about an upcoming presentation on The Eucharist Adoration to Action, Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at 7:30 PM at St. John the Baptist Church, Plymouth, Wisconsin

The Vatican II document “Lumen Gentium” uses the image of the Church as the “family of God,” emphasizing the Church as a community where all members are united in Christ. A good example of this is found in the formation of a Young Adult group coming together from all Sheboygan, WI Catholic parishes! Young Adult members with adult leaders from St. John the Baptist, Blessed Trinity, St. John the Evangelist, St. Dominic, St. Clement, Holy Name of Jesus, St. Peter Claver, Immaculate Conception, and SS. Cyril and Methodius will gather on Wed. April 9, 2025 at St. John the Baptist parish, Plymouth, WI for the Franciscan Presentation Reflection, The Eucharist, From Adoration to Action.

There are three points of emphasis in the presentation The Eucharist Adoration to Action regarding Franciscan Eucharistic Spirituality; 1) The Gospel life is to discover that God is in love with you and our response is to fall in love with God. 2) An encounter with God changes a person. 3) Franciscan Spirituality is about becoming more oneself; it is about using one’s gifts in the world.

Franciscan Sister of Christian Charity, Sister Mary Ann Spanjers, OSF along with Fr. Joachim Studwell, OFM from the Franciscan Friars of Our Lady of Guadalupe Province will share the presentation/reflection with the Sheboygan Young Adults. It consists of a series of 5 short videos featuring young adults from the Detroit Archdiocese and other speakers along with a reflection handout with questions for reflection and discussion.

Some comments from the YCP Chicago young adults who recently attended the presentation indicate their appreciation and insights;

“I appreciated the authenticity of the speakers’ earnest desire to teach and spread ways in which we can grow in our hearts the love of Christ. This helped visibly display what it feels like to have one’s heart centered on Christ” “Beautiful”

“I appreciated the guidance of what we can learn from St. Francis’s life and what that looks like when we live by it.”

“I liked the structure of the presentation. It ensured that you kept our attention.”
