A beautiful Sunday afternoon welcomed almost 200 guests to our Motherhouse “Open House”! There were visitors from all around the Manitowoc area, Sheboygan, Appleton, St. Nazianz among other areas. More than 40 Sisters were guides sharing the history past and present of so many rooms, artwork, memories, inspiration and Franciscanism which express so much of our life together for the past 155 years. There were many families, couples, former students, retired and current employees, family members, friends, neighbors along with a young woman who traveled from Janesville to meet the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity and experience the sacred space of the Motherhouse. So many of the visitors commented on the beauty, peace and joy they experienced. The tour brought everyone together in the cafeteria to enjoy delicious homemade cookies and bars. What a great anticipation of celebrating St. Francis Day!
