On the Solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity collaborated for prayer and service with Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, De Pere, Wisconsin . Faith Formation and Youth Ministry Coordinator Tracey LaCrosse and members of the youth group began the daylong experience on a reflective note.  Sister Mary Teresa Bettag directed the morning on the theme: ‘A Woman after God’s own heart.’ There was time for group discussion, but also significant time for personal prayer and time before the Blessed Sacrament in  chapel.

After lunch, Sister Elaine Turba led the group in quilting-making. Needles were threaded and all made yarn ties for a fabric cover to be sent to Africa through the Salvatorian Warehouse, St. Nazianz. Sister Elaine will complete the finishing touches on the quilt and deliver to the warehouse.

Given Mary was a woman after God’s own heart, Sister Mariella assisted the workers to make rosary bracelets for their personal prayer. There were choices to be made on the beads. The San Damiano Crucifix, the cross that spoke to St. Francis to ‘rebuild My church’ was attached to the prayer beads.
