Anniversary of Sisters’ Vows
God called. Our Sisters responded “YES”. Jubilees of our Sisters are celebrated at the Motherhouse with appropriate ceremonies. Jubilee years are counted from the date of one’s first profession. What a wonderful gift to celebrate the anniversaries of our Sisters who profess vows of poverty, chastity and obedience for 75, 60, 50 and 25 years. It truly is a public proclamation that Religious Consecration is Baptismal Consecration lived deeply.
“For each religious, formation is the process of becoming more and more a disciple of Christ, growing in union with and in configuration to Him. It is a matter of taking on increasingly the mind of Christ, or sharing more deeply His gift of Himself to the Father and His brotherly service to the human family, and of doing this according to the founding gift which mediates the Gospel to the members of a given religious institute.”
– Lumen Gentium
Religious formation is a dynamic, life-long process of growth in which God lovingly draws us to deeper intimacy with Himself. By cooperating with the Spirit of God as He mysteriously and effectively works within us, we respond more fully to our call to share in the life and mission of Christ through our vowed commitment to God, the Church, and our Congregation. –Constitutions VI, A
“If you think or feel maybe God is calling you to consecrated life, don’t be afraid. Come and see what it’s like. See if you feel at home; if it ‘fits” you. God will let you know. He has your happiness in mind.” -Sr. Carol Juckem
