How Franciscan Sisters Serve

Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity were founded as teachers and educators in 1869 in the newly formed Green Bay Diocese. Since then, our ministries and service have expanded beyond Catholic Education to Catholic Health Care, Parishes and Community, and Special Ministries.

Explore our Ministries and learn how Catholic Women called to be Franciscan are serving in challenging and rewarding ways, anchored in our Franciscan charism and prompted by the Holy Spirit.

In the last few years, we’ve held retreats and made ongoing outreach to parishes, young adults and campus ministries in the Dioceses where we serve, as well as Catholic Dioceses of Madison , LaCrosse, WI, and  Milwaukee.

We’ve partnered with our sister and nun friends in other Catholic religious communities for Discernment of Spirits Retreats designed for young Catholic Women

St. Francis and St Clare knew all about change and challenge. Like them, we have always been open to new ministries of serving God’s people – in ways beyond our current ministries but consonant with our charism.

Perhaps you’ll soon be graduating with a degree or certificate in Theology or Spanish, in Nursing or as a Nurse Practioner or as a Medical Technologist. Maybe Natural Science or Catholic Studies. Perhaps you desire to work as a Pastoral Associate in Campus Ministry https://mtucatholic.org/staff. Perhaps as an elementary teacher or a Health Care Chaplain.

Or you’ve been working in retail, or at a parish, and have a wholesome, clear sense of how to interact with people.

Perhaps you have a degree in Public Health Administration or Social Work. Or you have life experience as a Focus Missionary or Online Curriculum Developer.   We Welcome You!

We need you! And God’s people need you, your gifts and talents.

The World Needs You.
