Important Open House for Franciscan Hospital

Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity serving in West Point, NE share photos of a St. Francis Memorial Patient Tower Open House on Thursday, May 17, 2012. Public tours are scheduled June 3. Find out who  celebrated this new accomplishment.

A special Open House for Staff, Boards, and Guests of Franciscan Care Services was held on Thursday, May 17, 2012, to tour the new St. Francis Memorial Patient Tower in West Point, NE. The tower includes four floors with 52,000 sq. ft. of new construction.  Renovation of existing space will follow on an additional 29,000 sq. ft. in the hospital and clinic.

First, this is the new main entrance of St. Francis Memorial Hospital, West Point, NE.

Deacon Vince Maly, Chaplain at St. Francis Memorial,  began the opening ceremony with a prayer.

CEO, Ron Briggs spoke on the beginnings of the hospital project and why the new addition was needed.

Mayor Marlene Johnson congratulated all those who were instrumental in such a progressive project.

Senator Lydia Brasch said her relatives over the years have profitted from St. Francis Memorial Hospital and she is proud of this new facility.

The ribbon cutting included Jerry Wordekemper (shown far right), Project Manager and Administrator at St. Joseph’s Retirement Community, Sr. Mary Beth Prinz, Mission Director and other staff at St. Francis Memorial Hospital.

Sister Laura Wolf, representing Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity Sponsored Ministries, Inc, Manitowoc, WI, spoke during the festivities and is shown visiting with the Board President, Bill Kreikemeier.
