This year one of our own was nominated and received the 2012 Genesis Pride Award in the category of Innovation/Inspiration and Excellence: Sister Bernadette Selinsky. Sister works mainly as a chaplain with cancer patients and their families on 7 Main Good Samaritan Campus, Genesis Cancer Center and Radiation Oncology.

Here are a few quotes from those who nominated Sister Bernadette:

She lights up the room with her personality, and puts a smile on everyone’s face…can hold a conversation with anyone, in any circumstance, about any subject…just inspires us all to be better people and to go that extra step to give our patients the best care possible, physically and emotionally.

Sister Bernadette embodies the values of Genesis and she is an inspiration to all of us…she constantly and unselfishly gives of her time to attend to the needs of others, including patients, family members, and staff members. Her warm way of relating to everyone she encounters helps to create a healing environment at Genesis.

If you spoke to the people she has talked/walked with, with tears in their eyes, they would say “Oh it’s much more than that. There aren’t words enough to express it all.” Congratulations, Sister Bernadette.
