Enjoy a virtual open house experience of Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity-sponsored St. Francis Memorial Hospital, West Point, NE.

The new Patient Tower  had Open House for the Public on June 3, 2012. Believe it or not, 900 people toured.   The three story expansion project is more than 52,000 square feet larger than the original hospital that opened in 1950. The Tower has 17 new patient rooms, expanded clinic, lab and rehab areas, a new weather protected entrance and lobby, conference rooms, cafeteria and cafe area.

Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity first came to West Point in 1905 per request of Monsignor Joseph Ruesing who founded St. Joseph’s Home.  Then, the original hospital opened in 1923 and was replaced by the current facility in 1950.  Presently, our Sisters continue to operate a modern facility, St. Joseph’s Retirement Community, along with the hospital and clinics in West Point.

Sister Laura Wolf, President of  Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity Sponsored Ministries said: “I am so pleased with the outcome, and many thanks go to the architects, contractors, and laborers who have had a hand in helping create such an impressive building.  The quality care that West Point and the surrounding communities have enjoyed for so many years will continue.  This investment is a real testament of our commitment to being an integral part of this community long into the future.”
