Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity reached out to The Crossing, Holy Family Memorial Cancer Center, and Project Linus through Dr. Jessica Hall DDS with some creative fleece quilts. Sister Virgine Van Thull shares the story complete with scrapbook pictures.

Franciscan Sisters quiltsA generous gift of fleece enabled the Sisters at St. Francis Convent to reach out to others in our Manitowoc community. The Sisters used their own special talents to accomplish this gift during the last few weeks.

Fleece, itself, is very colorful and attractive and easy to work with. As we talked over different projects, we thought about young needy mothers and about others who would experience the coolness of some days and evenings.

This is a sampling of the colorful fleece patterns, the toys, (chosen so carefully by Sister Cyrilla) peeking out ofFranciscan Sister Virgine and Sister Mary Felice each pocket.

As some of us worked together, other ideas were offered. This is a short history of the results of this discussion. Enjoy our scrapbook pages.
