March 1, 2015 Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity hosted a Sunday Tea Party for 15 St. Francis of Assisi Parish young women at our Motherhouse in Manitowoc, WI. Brittany Wilms, Youth Ministry and Edge Program Coordinator, initiated this splendid idea in fall 2014 and this was the third event of this nature. Each gathering has its own theme, but vintage tea cups and finger foods are always served with delightful table conversation.
Here are some comments from the Sisters:
It was an informal and enjoyable opportunity for the young women to spend some time at the Motherhouse and to get to know a variety of our Sisters and for us to be introduced to them. Ending with Adoration and Benediction gave them an experience of our love for the Eucharist that is so fundamental to who we are. – Sister Theresa Feldkamp
I think it was a wonderful idea. It gave the young ladies an opportunity to meet us and talk to us in an informal setting. – Sister Mary Bodwin
The tea party was a relaxing opportunity to share in pleasant conversation with some wonderful young women. The added blessing of some time in adoration was also a plus for the afternoon. Is there a future Tea Party down the road? – Sister Elaine Turba
It was a very nice experience to share with these young women at the annual Tea Party. It was delightful to see their hats and gloves and to share in great conversation with them. I feel it is a wonderful opportunity to have them meet us and for us to share in their lives. May God bless them and touch their lives in a special way. -Sister Jerianne Stelmach
