A proud Zanesville community celebrated a historical Memorial Day. Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity witnessed the blessing and dedication of the new building of Genesis Healthcare System, Zanesville, OH.
St. Francis Chapel, important to the heart of the mission, also received its own special blessing.
Roman Catholic Diocese of Columbus Bishop Frederick F. Campbell presided over the prayer and blessings, while soon to be ordained St. Nicholas Parish, Zanesville, OH Deacon Sean Dooley assisted.
Franciscan Community Director Sister Natalie Binversie presented remarks at the open house dedication ceremony. She acknowledged that “this hospital is one more step in our journey to secure for the next generation the presence of our Church and our Sisters in Zanesville, to provide healing of body, mind and spirit for those we serve and to assure that the tradition of compassion and healing that we represent will endure into the future.”
