St. Francis of Assisi Mass for Peace

It was easy for Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity to spot St. Francis in the crowd at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Milwaukee, WI on August 13, 2015.  At the special Mass for Peace Pastor Father Michael Bertram OFM Cap,  members of the parish and Capuchin brothers welcomed us. Music inspired us to be light in the darkness of violence and evil.

St. Francis of Assisi Mass for Peace MilwaukeeArchbishop Jerome Listecki presided at the liturgy that packed the church named for the saint of Assisi. (It’s precious walls illustrate his conversion moments and significant turning points in his life.)  Other members of the Franciscan order including friars, Secular Franciscans and Sisters were present among the faithful adding their prayer for peace in the city of Milwaukee.

A walk to the statue of Martin Luther King was spirited  with singing and heart-felt intercessory prayer.
