Postulants Recap Encounter Milwaukee Experience

Sister JulieAnn Sheahan

November 18, 2016

Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity Postulants share their experiences of Encounter Milwaukee held November 12, 2016.

Encounter Milwaukee itinerary included phenomenal speakers, music, eucharistic adoration and confession for those who desired, and mass with Fr. Leo Patalinghug (who some may remember from EWTN and the show “Savoring Our Faith”). It was good to see so many in attendance, and the young adults who are the future of our beautiful Catholic Church. I would like to share a couple areas that stood out to me.

  • God wants to take us where we are at this very moment, not where we will be tomorrow or where we were yesterday.
  • God wants us to bring our worst and our struggles to him, and make us new again.
  • Also, by sharing our weaknesses and struggles with one another we are then able to grow closer to each other as we have been called as God’s children.

Encounter Milwaukee was an incredible grace filled experience. The speakers were on fire for Jesus, one could truly feel the Holy Spirit present in the music, and I enjoyed seeing friends from my alma mater :). I will definitely keep the inspirations I received with me in these upcoming months of Postulancy.

Encounter Milwaukee was a faith-filled day of prayer, worship and song. What a blessing to have experienced this day with those who are on “Fire” for Jesus Christ.

The conference was inspirational. The Holy Spirit was alive and well in the speakers. The audience seemed very alive and respondent to the messages!
