Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity picnic with the Manitowoc Serrans each summer. This is an organization that we owe our very lives. They are men and women who make up about 12,500 Serrans in 31 countries who meet twice a month in 400 groups, fulfilling their own vocations to service and encouraging others to aspire to the priesthood and religious life. Serra is something special. It is named in honor of Franciscan friar Junipero Serra, the saintly Spanish missionary who founded the famous chain of California missions. His Christ-like zeal inspired others to follow in his courageous footsteps, the footsteps of Jesus Christ like St. Francis of Assisi.

Sharing a spirit of service, the Manitowoc Serrans invited the Roncalli High School LaSallian Youth to team with them for an appreciation meal for priests and religious in the local area.  Chaplain Father Gerald Foley lead the prayer. He was remembered for his faithful service to the organization.
