As we celebrate our 151st anniversary of our founding as Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity on November 9th, we welcome you to view a tour of our convent home in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. For some, this may be your first visit at our Motherhouse. For others, it is a return to a familiar place that is precious in memory with so many of our Sisters past, present and future and their loved ones. Whatever, we are happy to walk with you.
Our Congregation of Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity is rooted in the call of God to Theresa Gramlich and Rosa Wahl. Their simplicity, firmly build on faith in a loving God, their joyful acceptance of poverty, their love for Church and their selfless dedication to the service of others are the cornerstones on which our Congregation is built. The world needs you. God calls you. We invite you.

Thank you so much for sharing! My family went to St. Francis. Immaculate Concepcion and Yuma Catholic. We appreciated the nuns and all they did for our Catholic Faith and education. This is amazing! My Mom Sally Doyle wants to visit some day!

I really enjoyed watching your video, it brought back a lot of wonderful memories when I worked there as a CNA! I worked there for many years, retiring in 2010. It was so nice to see and hear the Sisters that I enjoyed working for. Your home is so Beautiful and the Beautiful Sister’s are such a Blessing from God! I pray for you All and may God Bless you Always!
Thank You for sharing the video!
Take care & be safe!
Love,
Betsy Reindl

The convent and college was a special place for our family! My grandparents-Alfred and Florence Brandl were the first to work here. Grandma worked in the kitchen and Grandpa was the head of maintenance. Grandpa had a special retirement party there and a rare funeral memorial tribute sung and done by the Sisters. That was extremely special to our family! My Uncle Steve worked in maintenance. My Aunt Mary Jane helped sick Sisters. My mother worked at Holy Family College in the kitchen before I was born. My first job was working in the same place for work/study while going to college. As a child, I was allowed to job shadow my grandparents during summer vacation and help in small ways. I was lucky to get personal tours of many of these areas-including the garden area and even fishing! Many of the Sisters became friends to my family and myself.

I have visited several times. We gathered for Sister Shirley Spilker’s 60 Anniversary. Had a wonderful lunch, a beautiful church service and a tour of the Convent. It was truly a wonderful day.

My name is Andrew Joppe and I studied at Silver Lake College of the Holy Family from 2009-2012. I graduated from Holy Family College in I had an Old Testament survey course with Sister Mary Ann Spanjers OSF in Holy Family Convent. It was wonderful to see Sister Camilla in the video. I remember that when I was in college she was a secretary to the president of Holy Family College. May God continue to bless you Sisters. I pray for all of you everyday as I continue to pursue ordained ministry in the Christian church. Many of the Sisters from the college became good friends with me. May God bless all of you each and every day.
